Introduction

Init strings are commands that help a Dialup modem establish a connection and stay connected   

Resolution Steps

Windows 10 

  • Go to Start  |  Control Panel  |  Hardware and Sound  |  Device Manager  |  Devices and Printers
     
  • Click the arrow to the left  to expand the modems
     
  • Right click on the dial-up modem
     
  • Go to Properties | Advanced | and enter the appropriate init string from this list
