Introduction

Checking Rate Centers in ICOMS

 
  1.  Go to the Serviceable Status [SS] page in ICOMS
     
  2.  The Rate Center is listed in the middle of the screen next to RC
     
  3. Use Telcodata.us to compare the rate center of the phone number

     

Resolution Steps

Local Calling Areas for a Specific Number

  1. Go to the Local Call Finder
     
  2. Search Area Code/Prefix/OCN
     
  3. Type the area code and exchange of the customer's phone number and click Submit
     
    • Example:  For 570-270-1300 - 570 is the NPA and 270 is the NXX
       
  4. Click on the Rate Center for a list of all local rate centers
     

Determining if a Number is Local

  1. Go to the Local Call Finder
     
  2. On the Main Menu, click Search, then Local Call Finder
     
  3. Enter the area code and exchange of the customer's phone number, then enter the terminating number and click Submit
     
  4. Looking next to Local Call+
     
      • Y means local

    • N means not local
       

Find Regional Calling Areas

  1. Go to the Local Call Finder
     
  2. Click List of LATA (Local Access Transport Area) Codes
     
  3. Click on the customers LATA and click Submit
     
    • Note:  If unsure, the LATA is listed when you search Local Calling Area for a specific number
       
  4. Towns that are regional are listed
