DVR Issue - Muted Volume Article no. 2307

Resolution Steps

Powering off a converter when it has a scheduled recording will make the DVR mute when it comes back on to record
 

• This is done on purpose by the DVR manufacturer
   
• Prevent this next time by leaving the DVR powered on when a recording is scheduled

 

 Most remotes default to control TV volume

• When the DVR volume is muted, the remote should be reprogrammed to control the DVR volume
   
  • See the respective manuals for  the remote in question for Volume Control instructions
     
• Reprogram the remote to control TV volume when done, if preferred
